This May, something wonderful happened in a corner of our school. Some old plants that looked dry and "dead" last year have started to grow green leaves again!

This "Green Miracle" happened because of love. We want to thank our story-telling volunteers, Ms. Jiang Mei-yin, Ms. Jiang Yi-fang, and Ms. Shi Pei-ru, for decorating the pots and caring for them. We also thank Mr. Chen Xi-ping and all the students who watered the plants every day.

The new green leaves show us what love and education are all about. If we care, wait, and give love, life will find a way to grow back. On Mother's Day, this is a great lesson for our students: to cherish, to care, and to love. Love really can make life bloom again!

This May, our school celebrates Mother's Day with a wonderful blend of music and art. In the school lobby, the "Love in Full Bloom" 3D card exhibition has transformed the space into a forest of creativity. Under the guidance of our art teachers—Ms. Xiao, Ms. Chen, and Ms. Huang—students turned their hidden gratitude into unique handmade cards. Through every fold and cut, they learned to express love and appreciate beauty.

Adding to the warmth, our 4th and 5th graders presented a "Bilingual Music Performance." Combining their musical talents with English learning, the students performed beautiful recorder ensembles and choral songs. This performance was a proud showcase of their cross-disciplinary growth and a special melodic gift for all the mothers.

Whether through a handmade card or a soaring song, our students expressed their purest "confessions of love" this month. We thank our teachers for their dedication, helping students turn emotions into art and making this celebration the most touching scene on campus.

After a heavy rain, the campus was fresh and clean. Near the sandbox, two wonderful teachers, Ms. Su Ya-wen and Ms. Lai Hui-zhu, were seen quietly kneeling in the mud. They were carefully pulling out weeds to make sure the sandbox was clean and safe for the students.

This quiet act of service shows the deepest love for education. The teachers didn't care about getting dirty; they only cared about the children’s safety. Because of their hard work, students can run and play freely when the next recess bell rings. It is not a loud or big event, but it is the most sincere form of care. Thank you, teachers, for your gentle strength and for keeping our children safe with your own hands!

To build a safer campus, we invited Dr. Chung Ling-Ho and his professional team from the Chelungpu Fault Preservation Park to lead a special disaster prevention class for Class 403!

The Emergency Kit Challenge

In the first lesson, students played an interactive board game to learn about "Disaster Emergency Kits." They discussed which items are most important to pack during an emergency, learning how to stay prepared while having fun.

The Secrets of Earthquakes: Sandbox Experiment

The second lesson focused on the science of Earth. Dr. Chung used a "Sandbox Experiment" to show how layers of earth bend and break during an earthquake. Students were amazed to see how mountains and faults are formed! They also learned about the Changhua Fault, which is located near our homes. Through these hands-on activities, our students gained valuable knowledge and a safer mindset for the future!

The school hall was filled with loud applause today as we celebrated the amazing achievements of our students! From exams to international sports, our students showed their talents in every field.

Excellence in Arts and Academics

Congratulations to our midterm exam stars and the creative winners of the "Reading Creativity Contest." In the world of calligraphy and art, our students won several awards in county-wide competitions, including top prizes for Taiwanese Mother Tongue Picture Books.

Confident Speakers and Eco-Warriors

Our "Little Orators" won 1st place and Excellence awards for their speeches on road safety. Meanwhile, our "Eco-Warriors" ranked 4th in the County Environmental Protection PK Contest, showing their dedication to saving the planet.

Champions on the Sports Field

Our athletes were unstoppable! We won gold medals in Karate and Taekwondo international opens. Our Archery team also brought home trophies in the 10m recurve bow competition. We are so proud of all the winners! Your hard work and spirit inspire us all. Keep shining and reaching for your dreams!

On a Tuesday morning in May, a gentle rain cleaned the air for our big adventure. Just as our 3rd graders put on their backpacks, the rain stopped! Even though the ground was wet, the children’s smiles were brighter than the sun.

Laughter and Courage in the Theme Park

Our little explorers had so much fun! Some enjoyed the gentle breeze on the "Crown Swings," while others challenged their courage on the "Mining Coaster." From flying high as "Dumbo pilots" to driving "Bumper Cars," everyone had an amazing time.

Sharing Joy and Friendship

The students also showed great planning skills by using maps to track their challenges. During lunchtime, they sat together to share delicious food and snacks. It wasn’t just food they shared, but also their wonderful friendship. Even with a little rain, today’s memories are filled with nothing but joy and laughter!

Today, the little "Makers" from class 601 visited Tianwei Junior High School for an amazing tech adventure! Through hands-on practice and logical thinking, our students turned into mini-engineers for a day.

Creative Makers: The "Four-Legged Shaking Robot"

Students used their creativity to build a cute "Four-Legged Shaking Robot." Seeing their handmade gadgets jumping around on the table brought everyone a great sense of achievement!

Coding Skills: QUNO and Ultrasonic Sensors

The challenge continued with QUNO programming. Students learned how to use ultrasonic sensors to build a "Smart Parking System." They witnessed how software and hardware work together to solve real-life problems. With focused eyes and bright smiles, these young learners showed their unlimited potential in technology. A big thank you to all the teachers for making this wonderful "learning by doing" experience possible!

Our 5th graders recently had an exciting "Mölkky" (Finnish Throwing Game) competition in the school hall! This popular international sport is not just about throwing; it's about strategy and focus.

During the activity, students worked in teams. They focused hard on their targets and carefully controlled their strength. Every time they hit a pin, the whole hall cheered! Besides practicing hand-eye coordination, students also learned how to think strategically. They discussed which pins to hit to score the best points. From cheering for teammates to keeping score, everyone showed great teamwork. This fun experience gave our students a chance to learn a new global sport and grow through challenges together!

In this beautiful season of flowers, our String and Flute Ensemble visited the Chen Luo Mi-Feng Hall to join the "Love in Bloom" Mother's Day Charity Concert. This meaningful event was organized by the Tanaka Women’s Association and Joddar Enterprise.

As the students played their beautiful melodies, the music filled the air with love and gratitude for all mothers and families. A mother's love is quiet but deep, supporting us in every step of our lives. Through this music performance and charity sale, our students learned to give back to the community and express their thanks to their families. We wish all mothers a wonderful and happy Mother's Day!

Exciting news! Class 403 was chosen to represent Taiwan in the "PIRLS 2026 International Reading Literacy Study." This is a special chance for our students to learn alongside children from all over the world.

Reading is a Superpower

We believe that strong reading skills are the foundation of all learning. During the study, our students used a digital platform to solve international reading challenges. Everyone stayed focused and showed a great attitude toward learning. We are so proud of their hard work!

We were so happy to welcome Teacher Dom Jones from the USA! As a famous international leader, she shared her love for the environment and the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) with our students.

Earth Guardians and Music

Teacher Dom encouraged our 6th graders to protect the Earth and be kind to nature. She was very impressed by our students' smart questions! She also enjoyed a beautiful music performance and joined 2nd graders to make handmade carnations for Mother's Day.

Be Proud of Yourself

Our brave student guides used English to show her our beautiful library and art-themed restrooms. Before leaving, Teacher Dom left a special message: "Always believe in yourself!" It was an unforgettable day of learning and friendship.

Wow! Last March, Hsinmin Elementary School turned into a super cool magic school for all the new first-graders and their parents! It was an amazing day filled with fun and surprises.

First, our talented flute ensemble and string ensemble played beautiful music, making everyone feel like they were in a real music magic academy. Then, some friendly "little elf" helpers guided everyone on an exciting tour around the school.

They visited the "Amazing Library" to hear stories from Teacher Joseph. In the "Art and Music Classroom," they watched a fun play and listened to the guzheng. Even the bathrooms were special! At the "Mondrian Art Restrooms," little guides shared cool facts in both Chinese and English.

Outside on the playground, they pretended to be at a train station and practiced speaking English to ride the train! In the hall, they became musicians and tried playing the violin and cello. In the science room, they put on VR headsets and were instantly transported to the North Pole to see the amazing Northern Lights! And guess what? They even made yummy hot sweet potato balls next to the painted wall!

Finally, everyone learned about the special International IE Class. It sounds like magic! This class helps kids learn English easily, just by being around it all the time.

Our principal and teachers at Hsinmin Elementary are always thinking, "What more can we do for our kids?" And that's why they created such a magical day for everyone!

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, our school was buzzing with energy for the School Anniversary Grand Relay Race!

Our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders lined up, ready to sprint and pass the baton as fast as they could. It was an amazing sight to see every class working together, cheering loudly for their teammates. The whole school was there, shouting encouragement and showing incredible spirit!

This fun race was all about teamwork and class spirit. Everyone did their best, not just to win, but to support their friends and make their class proud. It was a fantastic day that showed how strong and united our Hsinmin Elementary family is!
